Hurricane Preparedness
Each year catastrophic disasters occur across the United States. Preparation comes in many forms, from creating your evacuation plan, building your emergency kit, updating your storm protection on your home as well reviewing your current insurance plan for unforeseen circumstances.
It is important to prepare before the storm and have your personal information organized. Have your documents (i.e., ID cards, passport, vehicle titles, etc.) organized and in a safe box ready to be grabbed in any emergency.
Pertaining to your insurance, this safe box needs to contain:
- Your Policy Declarations
- Carrier Contact Information
- Agency Contact Information
- A complete inventory of your home’s contents
Hurricane and water damage can have catastrophic affects on your home or your business. Damage as a result of flooding is not covered under your homeowners policy. Did you know 1 in 4 properties experience flood damage that are not located in a high risk flood zone?
We encourage you to start creating your own Preparedness Kit and review your current insurance plan today. Not only is our team available when you have a claim, we are also there to provide you with resources to assist you in preparing for a severe weather event.
